We helped our client, a world-leading biopharmaceutical company, conduct a comprehensive landscape assessment and developed an implementation framework to support a strategic review of their R&D priorities.
The Opportunity:
“What are the key learnings from competitors when conducting an R&D strategic review and what change management processes were key to their success?”
With a presentation to the senior-level company executives, the client wanted to identify how other companies had approached their own strategic reviews and what change management approaches could be implemented to ensure a smooth transition and implementation
Our Approach:
Eradigm conducted a comprehensive benchmarking of target competitors to understand their R&D focus and how that had historically evolved in parallel with corporate reorganizations. We then engaged with senior-level business leaders across multiple cross-functional teams to understand their previous experiences with strategic reviews to identify organizational blind spots and determine how competitors define R&D success.
Speaking to leaders across the company, we identified short-, medium, and long-term perspectives that had not been previously considered. Using our new understanding, we developed a roadmap and change management framework for build-up, delivery and execution of a novel R&D strategy. By helping our client think cross-functionally and focus on delivering a long-term impact, we enabled their critical dialogue with senior executives on a global corporate strategy.
The Impact:
The project helped an established pharma company deliver its new R&D strategy and led to the development of appropriate materials to guide employees at senior levels through the new approach. By being a ‘thought-partner’, and working collaboratively and cross-functionally, we were able to meet the client’s evolving needs in real-time.
Our external insights and points of difference helped build a robust strategy that delivered successful and sustainable outcomes. This project built on Eradigm’s specialist knowledge of cross-portfolio analyses, marrying granular detail with bigger-picture strategic insights.
