We helped our cross-functional client team of CI and Brand leads, to co-develop & align on robust strategies to differentiate & defend its rare disease portfolio from major competitors.
The Opportunity:
“How can we strengthen our portfolio launch strategy by better understanding competitor strategies?”
Launching in a competitive space with low patient numbers and various competitors, with assets toe-to-toe in development, our client sought to ensure their cross-functional teams were developing robust and future-proofed portfolio strategies informed by a common understanding of their competitive environment.
Our Approach:
Eradigm initially sought to create thorough competitor profiles, detailing cross-dimensional aspects of strategies and tactics that would serve as the baseline of understanding. In collaboration with our client, we then designed and facilitated an engaging workshop that brought together members from the global client teams and stimulated insightful discussion across several areas
The workshop comprised 4 separately facilitated exercises. Eradigm initially sought to identify the ideal patient profile for each product, followed by a brainstorming session in which client teams stepped into their competitors’ perspective to identify potential strategies and high-level tactics which could be deployed to differentiate their product.
Following this, we aimed to optimise and refine the client’s own counter-strategies to defend and differentiate their product from the competitors. Finally, the attendees prioritised key activities by function & aligned on key short, medium and long-term objectives.
The Impact:
The project helped an established pharma company differentiate itself within an entrenched indication, and to become a known player within the rare disease space. Through our facilitation of the workshop & cross-functional collaboration, we were able to help the client establish a strategic & tactical roadmap for the following year. This project also further built on Eradigm’s specialist knowledge in the rare disease space, as well as its capabilities in workshop facilitation, with the end-goal of bringing sustainable & successful solutions to patients.
